I stayed here end of September 2008 for the Labour conference and we are about to repeat the experience this year. I should have got round to doing a review then! I found my room was a good size, the food was good and good value, I don't think they could make it any cheaper for what you get - it is worth ordering an evening meal if you are in as well as just the breakfast as it is nicely cooked and prompt. The staff are very helpful, there is a twenty-four hour reception and location wise it's very good for the centre of town - it looks on the map as if you are slighty off-centre but in fact you could walk to the GMEX in 25 minutes (perhaps quicker if you have long legs!) and less than that to the rest of the town, and 10 mins to the MEN as others have said - it's not usually worth getting the tram as you are so near but you can part of the way if you have luggage or are tired!

We booked for a 3 day convention. Paul and staff were exceptional they could not do enough for us. We requested a room change from the front to the back, as we are not use to traffic noise and felt we would not be able to sleep. They did this with no hesitation. The food was good and freshly cooked, and you could sit and relax in the lounge afterwards. The secure car park was a real bonus, we were able to leave our car there for the 3 days of our stay without worrying about finding parking. We will definately be staying again next year for our 3 day convention. A big thank you to Paul and staff.

Loved how the staff were so Welcoming after being on a boiling flight for an hour then the long drive. I had a Lovely Chat with one of the male staff for a couple of hours, keeping me company whilst looking after the other guests! The rooms were lovely, however, like mentioned, the bathrooms were a little smaller than expected and the beds were like cardboard boxes, but apart from that, I had a very Pleasant stay and I do intend on coming back !! Maybe even find out this guy's name!! HAHAHA!

Great budget hotel nr city centre, staff very friendly and helpfull, rooms are similar to Travelodge standard altough bathroom a bit small but had a fantastic power shower, hotel is also very clean. A Great base to enjoy all that Manchester has to offer and would definately stay there again.

I read quite a few bad revues about Stays Hotel, Manchester, but I can tell everybody including those who panned the hotel - that me and my husband found our stay there fully enjoyable, we had a lovely room with a spotless bathroom, the staff were most accommodating to us especially for my husband (providing cables for my husband's sleep machine)and courteous. We would not hesitate to use this hotel time and time again.

Paul on reception was very friendly and welcoming on our arrival, rooms were very clean and a good standard. Hotel is around a 10 min walk from city center or for those who prefer to get a taxi, around £4 in a private hire (front desk will phone a taxi for you) in a black cab - its about £5.

I have stayed here twice now, once last year on my own and once this year with my daughter. On both occasions my rooms were spacious and clean; breakfasts and evening meals were tasty and you were always offered plenty in the breakfasts. Staff were very friendly and always ready to help out. Hotel is so handy being close to the city centre. I will definitely be back!

We stayed here for one night while visiting Manchester for a concert at the MEN and a shopping trip. The hotel was ideally suited being around 10 minutes walking distance from either location. Booking our room online was really easy, we felt we got an excellent deal and the staff on arrival could not have been more friendly or helpful. The room was clean, tv, tea and coffee, a comfortable bed, adequate bathroom ensuite, free car parking on site. What more could you ask for? We will definitely use again.
